Metaplanet Acquires 269 BTC In Its First Bitcoin Purchase Of 2025 Details
The Japanese investment firm Metaplanet bought 269 Bitcoins for $26 million, their first Bitcoin purchase of 2025. This brings their total Bitcoin holdings to 2,031, purchased at an average price of $80,674 per Bitcoin, totaling $195 million. Metaplanet's goal is to own 10,000 Bitcoins by the end of 2025 and 21,000 by the end of 2026, and they plan to raise $745 million by issuing shares to help achieve this.
