Musk to scale up graphics resolution for Grok to do better than AAA games
Elon Musk's xAI plans to enhance its AI model, Grok 3, to improve graphics resolution for game development. Grok 3 can already create simple browser games from text descriptions, handling game logic and scoring. Musk suggests Grok 3 could surpass AAA games with improved graphics. xAI is exploring AI-driven game development, with Grok 3 creating games like a missile-firing game where enemy speed increases. Musk stated Grok 3 can enhance game graphics through text prompts, potentially working within Grok or as a separate tool. He didn't clarify if it would rival existing upscaling technologies like Nvidia's DLSS or AMD's FidelityFX. xAI is launching an AI gaming studio, inviting developers to join. Grok 3, trained using 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, can generate games like Tetris using Python and reportedly outperforms other AI models in benchmarks.
