FTX Creditors Blocked as Claims from 163 Countries Rejected
FTX has started repaying creditors who lost up to $50,000, offering them 100% of their claims plus 9% annual interest. However, claims from 163 countries, including Russia, China, Egypt, Nigeria, and Ukraine, are currently ineligible for these distributions, impacting a significant number of investors, with China representing 8% of affected customers. While the reason for these exclusions remains unclear, it's likely due to regulatory and legal complexities. FTX's next repayment round is scheduled for May 30, targeting creditors with claims over $50,000. Creditors must verify their claims and choose a distribution agent by April 11 to be eligible for this round.
