Prosecutors Claim Roman Storm Made Millions From Dirty Money Laundromat
Prosecutors are claiming that Roman Storm, a co-creator of Tornado Cash, profited by millions of dollars from operating the crypto mixer, which they allege laundered money for hackers, including North Korea's Lazarus Group. They stated in court that Storm was aware his platform was used to launder money for sanctioned entities and that he even marketed Tornado Cash as a way to launder money. Prosecutors pointed to a T-shirt with a washing machine and the Tornado Cash logo as evidence. They further claimed that Storm cashed out millions of dollars worth of crypto after the alleged money laundering. Storm's defense argues that Tornado Cash is simply a privacy protocol and that he had nothing to do with the hacks.
