Hackers Exploit BigONEs Systems, Steal Millions in Bitcoin and Ethereum
The BigONE crypto exchange experienced a security breach where hackers stole an estimated $27 million in cryptocurrency. The attack exploited vulnerabilities in BigONE's hot wallet infrastructure, allowing the hackers to withdraw funds, including 120 Bitcoin, 350 Ethereum, and over 8 million USDT across multiple networks. BigONE has stated that user losses will be covered by its internal security reserves and that services have been restored following a system upgrade. Separately, the decentralized trading platform GMX was recently exploited for $42 million, though the hacker returned $40.5 million after accepting a bounty.
