Crypto Bills Clear Procedural Hurdles in House After Tuesdays Failure
The United States House of Representatives approved three crypto bills – the GENIUS Act, the Clarity Act, and the Anti-CBDC Act – after failing to do so on Tuesday. Initial procedural votes of 196 to 223 shifted to 215 to 211 in favor of the bills on Wednesday. This change followed intervention by President Trump, who secured an agreement to include stricter anti-Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) provisions in the Clarity Act. The passage of these bills is expected to positively impact the cryptocurrency market. Following the House vote, Ethereum's price increased by 6.9 percent in the last 24 hours, trading slightly above $3,308. The total crypto market capitalization also rose by 3 percent, reaching approximately $3.8 trillion. The new regulations in the United States are anticipated to encourage further growth in the cryptocurrency market.
