XRP News: Why the Ripple vs SEC lawsuit Still Isnt Fully Closed
The Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit is not fully resolved despite Ripple paying a $50 million penalty in cash, not XRP. The remaining $75 million is held in escrow. The case remains open because both Ripple and the SEC need to officially withdraw their appeals related to previous rulings. Once the appeals are dropped, the court order will take effect, and the money will be released to the SEC. This process is expected to take one to two months. Despite the ongoing legal issues, XRP's price has increased significantly, reaching the 3rd spot among top cryptocurrencies by market cap and is currently trading around $3.15.
