Ethereum dominates RWAs with $4.1B in AUM value and 54.5% market share
Ethereum holds $4.1 billion worth of real-world assets (RWAs), representing 54.5% of the total RWA market. This value grew by 10% in the last month, and the number of RWA holders on Ethereum increased by 3.05% to 62,280. 163 different RWA tokens have been issued on Ethereum, with Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC being the largest, holding 58.37% and 29% market share respectively. 13 out of 20 financial institutions building crypto infrastructure use Ethereum or its Layer 2 networks for RWAs. Over 50 traditional companies, including Deutsche Bank, Paypal, Louis Vuitton, and Adidas, are also building crypto applications on Ethereum and its L2s. The value of RWAs on Ethereum has quadrupled in the past year, partly due to anticipated crypto-friendly regulations in the US. Competing blockchains like zkSync Era hold $1.95 billion in RWAs, Stellar holds $405.17 million, Aptos holds $335.5 million, and Polygon holds $192.9 million. Ethereum's dominance is attributed to its robust smart contract ecosystem, security, and network effects.
