Metaplanet Now Holds 2,100 Bitcoin, Purchases 68 More BTC
Metaplanet, a publicly traded company, increased its Bitcoin holdings by 68.59 BTC, bringing its total to 2,100 BTC. This represents 0.01% of the total 21 million Bitcoin that will ever exist. The purchase cost $6.6 million, averaging $96,335 per Bitcoin. The company has raised $20 million in equity capital recently to support this acquisition strategy. Metaplanet also announced a 10-for-1 stock split effective April 1st, reversing a 1-for-10 reverse split from eight months prior. The company's shares are currently trading at 6,260 Japanese Yen, up over 1%.
